Blankets 37 – 49

Hm.  Seems to have been a long time.  And all I have today is a log of Project Linus blankets: I couldn’t begin to recall the yarn I used for the fleece blankets, but the granny square blanket below was Red Heart with Love… Continue Reading “Blankets 37 – 49”

Blankets 34 -36 2013

We’ve had several Project Linus events going on and coming up, so here are my most recent blankets.  We begin with my first granny square blanket ever: The yarn is Lion Brand’s Vanna White Baby yarn in Little Boy Blue and Lamb.  The last… Continue Reading “Blankets 34 -36 2013”

Peace Marathon – April 29 to May 31, 2013

Through Project Linus, I learned about a fabulous fundraiser to honor the victims of the bombings at the Boston Marathon.  Chicago running coach Jenny Hadfield established a virtual marathon where each participant runs or walks 26.2 miles over the course of the next month.… Continue Reading “Peace Marathon – April 29 to May 31, 2013”

Blankets 28 – 33 2013

All these posts to do and all I can manage is the Project Linus stuff.  On the far left is a fleece with guitars on it edged in Red Heart Soft White and Red Hear Cherry Red.  Next is a solid black with appliqued… Continue Reading “Blankets 28 – 33 2013”

I Went to the Chicagoland Pet Expo and Didn’t Take Any Pictures

Which makes me extremely lame.  However, the show has become less interesting to me since: I am not in the market for a new pet.  For like, the next decade or so. Many of the groups I enjoyed visiting were not present. Of the… Continue Reading “I Went to the Chicagoland Pet Expo and Didn’t Take Any Pictures”

Blankets 20 – 27

Today was the big Blanket Day for my chapter of Project Linus.  I brought eight (modeled by Gibbs, who wouldn’t get off the couch): On the far left is three panels of fleeces, sewn together before I picked it up to crochet the edges.… Continue Reading “Blankets 20 – 27”

New Favorite Charity – Adopt a Classroom

I forget where I first heard of Adopt-a- Classroom, but the premise was very familiar: Teachers spend a lot of their own money for stuff needed in the classroom.  School budgets are tight, parents can’t always afford supplies and teachers want the best for their… Continue Reading “New Favorite Charity – Adopt a Classroom”

Project Linus 10 – 19 2013

These blankets went to Project Linus on Starbucks night, before I left town: The one on the left that is all messed up from the lighting has dinosaurs on it and is edged in Red Heart Black yarn.  The Winnie the Pooh is next,… Continue Reading “Project Linus 10 – 19 2013”

Blanket 9 – 2013

Finally, the last of this project!  The “pattern” is sort of goofy, but it did what I needed.  Namely come out even-ish and not too dark: Lion Heart’s Vanna brand in pink, white and..I forget what that gray color was called.

Blankets 1 – 8 2013

I am going to be out of town for the first Project Linus blanket day of the year, so I am posting my stuff now.  I think I finished 91 blankets in 2012 – a whole lot of these crochet-edged fleece blankets and a… Continue Reading “Blankets 1 – 8 2013”
